Today, Widewail announces an important milestone in our company’s journey: the transition of leadership from founder and outgoing CEO Matt Murray to Cuyler Owens, who will assume the role of CEO.
Since its founding in 2017, Widewail has grown from an idea shared by Matt Murray and his wife and co-founder Angi Murray into a leading reputation management and customer experience platform serving more than 10,000 business locations across the U.S. and Canada. Under Matt’s leadership, Widewail launched six products, sustained the growth necessary to land on the Inc. 5000 list for three consecutive years (2023, 2024, 2025), and built proprietary capabilities that analyze millions of reviews to help businesses understand what truly makes their customers happy.
But beyond the numbers, Widewail has always been about people. As Matt shared in his announcement, “Widewail has been so much more than a business. It’s been family. Together, we celebrated crossing the $1M ARR milestone in the early days, navigated the challenges of COVID, launched six products, and welcomed more than 10,000 locations… But the moments I’ll cherish most are watching Wailers grow both professionally and personally.”
With Angi concluding her Widewail chapter earlier this year, Matt felt it was the right time to transition. He will remain engaged as a board member and continue to support the company during this next phase.
Widewail’s new CEO, Cuyler Owens, brings deep experience in customer-focused technology and a proven track record of scaling businesses. At Dealerware, he helped grow the company from its very first customer to market leadership. More recently, he helped guide TrustRadius through its growth journey and successful exit.
Cuyler’s philosophy is rooted in a simple belief: listening to customers and embracing the voice of the customer is the best way to do business.
“I am excited for Widewail because its products and values align so closely with what I’ve seen time and time again lead to successful results and universal trust,” Cuyler said. “Our objective at Widewail is to enable multi-location businesses to understand, react, and leverage the voice of their customers to improve operations, build trust, and enhance their financial performance. In the AI era, efficient feedback loops are becoming foundational tools — and Widewail is poised to help businesses adjust with the agility this moment demands.”
For Cuyler, the opportunity is also personal. It marks a return to the automotive industry, one he has long admired.
With the backing of Widewail’s investors at ParkerGale and the dedication of an exceptional team, Cuyler steps into the role energized to usher in the company’s next chapter of growth and maturity.
Matt expressed confidence in the transition: “I’m thrilled to welcome Cuyler as Widewail’s new CEO. He brings the experience and vision to carry Widewail into its next chapter, and in just a short time, I’ve come to admire him — not only as a leader, but as a person. When we introduced him to the Wailers this week, the excitement for what’s ahead was unmistakable.”
As Widewail turns the page, one thing remains constant: our mission to help businesses harness the voice of the customer to build trust, loyalty, and long-term success.
Please join us in welcoming Cuyler Owens to the Widewail team.
